Effective 7 October 2026
Whisp is a Windows app that transcribes a live interview and, when you ask, drafts a short answer from your own resume, notes and the job description. This page explains what Whisp stores, what it sends to other services, and how to export or delete your data. Questions or requests: ydiab4@gmail.com.
What Whisp stores
- Your account: your name, your email address, your password (only as a salted, hashed value) and sign-in sessions.
- What you add: resumes (their text, and the short profile read from them), interviews (company, position, date, meeting app, job description, notes and keywords) and the transcripts you choose to save. Uploaded files are not kept: Whisp keeps only the text read from them.
- Usage counters: the times of your answer, reading and transcription requests, used only to enforce fair-use limits.
Audio is not stored. Answers are not stored: they exist only in the app window during the session. A transcript is saved only when you press Save transcript after a session.
Services that receive data
- Deepgram (speech-to-text): while a live session is running, your audio goes directly from your device to Deepgram to be transcribed. Whisp's server does not receive the audio. Listening starts and stops only when you press Start and End.
- OpenRouter, which forwards to the AI model in use (currently Google Gemini): when you press Answer, the question, the last few lines of the transcript, and the interview's resume, job description and notes are sent to produce the answer. When you add a resume or a job description, its text is sent to read it.
- Neon (database): your account and the data listed above are stored in a Postgres database in Frankfurt, Germany.
- The Whisp server runs on a virtual server in France.
These services process the data only to provide their part of Whisp. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else.
Cookies
Whisp uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
Your choices
- Export: Settings → Export my data downloads everything stored for your account as a JSON file.
- Delete: you can delete any resume, interview or saved transcript, and Settings → Delete my account removes your account and all of its data at once.
- Data is kept until you delete it or your account.
Use responsibly
Only use live transcription and AI help where you are allowed to, and tell the other participants when that is required. Whisp is not intended for children under 16.
